Update (Cleaning, Photography, etc)

I am going to start co-cleaning at people's houses soon with the friend I cleaned the post office with for 7 months.
I am excited about that.
It will give me time to do my personal life things as well. We will be working the time we want to and such. Also, we'll be using only Natural homemade cleaners. Can I get a Yes ma'am? I am so excited!

Today I spent almost 5 hours cleaning a friend's home for a  surprise for the guy's wife, since the house was really dirty and they were on vacation and he wanted her to come home to a clean home. It was likely one of the dirtest houses I have ever cleaned....but it was meticulously organized, which was nice...but ohh so dirty!  Also, they had all wood floors which is totally me all the way! :D (Even the old skinny dark wood floors type. Yeah! )

So last week I got Flemish Giant Rabbits. I will be building them hutches very soon. Breeding comes in a couple months down the road...crazy!

On top of all this craziness I am going to upgrade my camera lens. If I feel I have enough saved up first. We'll see! But let's not get ahead of myself...

I am also starting up school again. It has been on and off recently. It has been hard readjusting to not cleaning at the PO every day. All is good though! : -)
There is truly nothing like HOME!

As always..God be the GLORY. =)

Peace out.

Goat Kids, Young Living Essential Oils, and Flu

It has been while....my life has been busy. Don't I always start with that? I know, I know, we are all sick of the "I am sooooo busy" posts and such. But anyway, I'll just start with what I have been up to.

Last month I did a baby session which went AWESOME and got some adorable pictures. (Which reminds me I need to go edit the rest of that session this week before it gets any later!!) Isn't she the cutest thing? :D

The other week back I decided I would start up my schedule and STICK TO IT...well a little after that, kid goats were born. They kept coming and coming- which wasn't a bad thing per se, except the fact I ended up having to bottle feed them for many reasons... Nursed one back to health after it almost died, two were abandoned by their mother, and one's mother didn't get  milk in, etc....It was crazy. I wasn't getting much sleep taking care of them all. Well, some died, some had to be put down...it was soo sad, but now two are healthy, lively and happy and I still battle-feed them.
Finally last week, I was getting good amount o sleep and ready to start this schedule I have been putting off. So started it I did...Went as planned for one day and the next day I started coming down with something...not just "something", but the flu of all things, annnd I got a fever too. It was terrible. I was in bed most of the day and then some. So now I am pretty much better (just a lingering cough) and I am starting this schedule again. One day now it has gone great! Praying it actually finally stick from now on!!

I am still working at the post office in the mornings and it has been going well. Nice to get money and start actually saving up. I am only going to be at this job until the Spring. My neighbour works with me and she is going to leave to get a "better job" to be able to buy a car, etc. She is going to be baby-sitting at peoples' houses (or a family's house), which I know she'll be good at since she's been baby sitting and her sisters have been since she was very little and she has her practice in for sure....I am slightly jealous about that actually...But I help her out with kids she babysits at home sometimes and I usually end up with a headache for some reason. ;) Children apparently don't know what the word 'quiet' means...but I think we all knew that, didn't we?

I got my first shipment of essential oils this week from Young Living and am sooo excited!! My Dad is not convinced of using oils, but the only way to know if they work is to test them out, right?!?! ;)

I also started a new Food Blog! Click here to view. :)

"I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." ~1 John 2:14-17

Which reminded me of a quote by Samuel Rutherford from his 'Quaint Sermons' on Philippians 3:8:
"To Hell with all other things that do not help me serve Christ!"

So, here's to blessed rest of this week. God bless you all and stay strong in the Lord!! <3

"Marriage and the Marks of Farm Life" (Bryan Welch)

The chickens are pooping all over the front porch again, and my wife is a very special woman.

Almost every week, at some point or another, Carolyn says how happy she is to live at Rancho Cappuccino, surrounded by the wildlife and the livestock, steeping in nature’s own exotic brew of life, death, struggle and ecstasy.

Sounds great, you may say, but the chickens are pooping all over the porch. The geese are pooping all over the lawn. The manure in the sheep pen is two feet deep right now and  the pasture where the cattle are grazing, well, it’s a cow pasture. Talk about your exotic brews.

The cow is a virtuosic defecator. They poop more, larger, wetter, deeper, noisier and more often than anyone else on the farm.

But all God’s children leave their mark.

The chickens leave theirs on the front porch.

My wife’s friends are revolted. Who can blame them?

But my wife is a very special woman.

We’ve tried solutions to the chicken problem. We tried fake snakes. The chickens ignored them, then killed a real snake and left it there, next to the fake snakes on the porch, to express their disdain I guess. This really happened. No kidding.

Then we created a barrier of silk flowers in little buckets. The chickens steer clear. Guests have to step over them.

Of course the chickens still do their business all over the sidewalk and the drive way and the lawn.

I’m acutely conscious that there are very few roommates who would put up with this, and almost all of them are men. If you think I’m being a sexist,  you have an invitation to come help me clean the sheep pen. Then we can talk about my prejudices.

I figure if Carolyn decided to divorce me, I could either move to town or be single for life. I try to think of some other attractive woman who would be willing to join me at the Rancho. I can’t. Even some of the best sports I know can’t hide the little grimaces that say, “How can they live like this? How can she live like this?”

So here’s to Carolyn, with all my gratitude. I’ll make sure I take my boots off every time I come inside. Promise. Unless I forget.
