May 29th 2013 (School, Sewing, Canning, and Photography)

The weather has been getting warmer. We had a couple warm weeks or so recently, and it is going to be in the 90s some this week!
I like the warmer weather, but I am not sure if I should be excited about it being that hot or not. :-)

Tabitha and I have continued on with our sewing. Yes, we finished the skirt already. I really appreciate learning to sew-such a good skill to know!

This week we bought fabric and, to our surprise, at the same store we found a canning tray. We have been wanting to can for a while now, but we couldn't find anyone selling the trays we need. So that is very exciting for me! :D

School has been going well.
I am memorizing Proverbs 10:15:18 this week and reading about Job from "The Kingdom of God" by Francis Breisch, Jr. for my Bible class. That is a great book and I highly enjoy grasping new thoughts/ ideas/ Biblical facts that I haven't before.

I am finishing up my book report on the book "Up From Slavery" by Booker T. Washington. He tells the story of his life growing up in slavery and when they were freed-showing the determination to prove that all men (no matter the race) should be showed respect and love. He says in his book, how not only is book learning excellent for a person, but also hard work should be learned and practiced.
I just finished a chapter in Science on "Natural Resources" and especially enjoyed learning about several types of pollutants and how they affect living organisms, etc. I am just starting a chapter on "Support and Movement of the Body". It just goes into more detail about structures of the skin, skin colour, how your skin protects you, skeletal system, structures of bones, muscular system, etc. Great stuff! It is amazing how God created everything so perfect!
I just finished studying about the life on the colonies in History and going to start "America Colonies in the British Empire". It is nice to be able to read about my country's past history.
In Math I am just about to learn about Geometric Construction of Bisectors. How fun! : )

My photography has been going alright- I haven't read much since my last blog post, though, sadly.
That being said, I am going to be meeting with my friend and photographer, Crystal next week sometime, hopefully. Like Her FB Photography Page Here!
I can't tell you how excited I am to finally be seeing her again after a year! To talk about photography, take some pictures, and just to catch up on a few things!

I will end now with pictures I have taken and edited recently:
Starting with the skirt we made.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by again! Good night and God bless.

Picture Quotes

For those who haven't been following my "Beautifully Biblical'' page on Facebook, I am going to share with you some picture quotes that I have made. Hope you all enjoy them. :o)

I took this picture by the way. (: --->

May 8th 2013 (Sewing and Photography)

I am finally writing again!
So what have I been up too?
Well to start off...
I have been doing school, cooking, cleaning, organizing, photographing, editing pictures, writing letters, reading books, helping my sister make a skirt, etc.
So, life is going great! :) I hope yours is as well. What are you all up to? (Comment and let me know!)

So excited to finally start sewing. We started a while back and stopped, but are at it again. I keep hearing older women saying it is a good skill to know, so we might as well learn it! We are almost done with the skirt. SOOO EXCITING! :D I will post pictures of me wearing it after we finish it, if it turns out.

Here are some pictures from our sewing fun so far. (Taken with my phone, hence the bad quality.)

On another topic, I have also been trying to 'perfect' my photography, as I am a beginner and I have LOTS to learn. It so exciting to learn new things and I am willing to take the time I can to learn what I need to.
I have been in contact with some photographers, so it has been fun discussing things with them.

So, here are some pictures I have taken with my Canon Rebel T3 recently. I have many more I have edited and LOTS more that I need to edit, but hope you enjoy these for now. :o)

Talk with you all later!

"It may be natural enough to prefer the married to the unmarried state..." (John Angell James)

“It may be natural enough to prefer the married to the unmarried state, when an opportunity offers for entering into it. But let not your minds be unduly restless and anxious in realizing the object of your wishes. Avoid all romantic and poetic imaginativeness on this momentous affair. Do not allow yourselves ever to treat it with levity, or to sustain or adopt a line of conduct which would look as if you were more anxious to be a wife—than to be qualified for such a state. Never come to the conclusion that you cannot be happy if you are not married—and cannot but be happy if you are married. Let the multitude of happy maidens and the equal number of unhappy wives, correct such mistakes, and dispel all the illusions with which the idea of marriage disturbs the propriety of some young women's conduct.” ~John Angell James, 'Female Piety'
