Planting, Thrift Shopping, and School

We have been spending these last two weeks planting shrubs that were on sale at Home Depot and Lowe's. Which includes digging holes twice as wide and pretty deep down, my Dad and I then mix mushroom soil with our soil to get a good mixture to put around the bush in their holes. Fun and hard working times during these last warmer (ish) days.
It might get MUCH colder and possibly snow (?!) on early next week/ Tuesday!
I hope not, because we still have pine trees and now some fruit trees to plant (also some fence post holes) and we need to do them before it freezes over.
I am thinking tomorrow is going to be a long day.  *Deep breath*
I am glad I got some house cleaning down today because I may not have much time to do it tomorrow. We'll see! Life is exciting indeed!

Recently we went to a Thrift store. I needed to because during the spring/summer I got lots of shirts...but they were all t-shirts, which aren't the best on chilly autumn and winter days! So this time I got tons of blouses, so that takes care of that factor....but there were not many skirt there, sadly, so maybe we will go again sometime soon and hopefully find something!
Thrift store shopping is one my favourite kinds of shopping- that and craft shopping! (And I am not really into clothes shopping, lol)
At Thrift Stores they seem to have a relatively good selection of modest (at least somewhat modest) clothes, which is such a blessing.  There are SO many rows of skirts, shirts, and dresses, etc. I have found a lot of treasures there. I especially like Wednesdays there...They are at least half off!!! And their price are super cheap in the first place. Whoopie! ;)
We then get home and spend a good amount of time labeling (like each person's names, etc.) and taking out staples (where they price tags are stabled on)...Fun times! :D

I have been spending more time doing school recently, so that is wonderful!
Almost done with this math book! :D Yippee! So excited to start the next grade soon that I can hardly contain myself. ;)

Pretty amazing how your attitude can change as you get older.
I really like school now.
Thankful that God is maturing me to enjoy the things I need to do. :)

I am Blessed.

I was walking outside taking care of our animals this morning.
The breeze was frigid, but my heavy coat kept me warm, except where it wasn't covering me. I looked around and the wind was blowing the pine trees, the little old corn was swaying in the wind... The sun shone across my face giving a bit of warmth, but just for a second, as it moved quickly away. There was no noise except that of the wind.
I carried in one hand a bucket of water and in the another a bucket of animal feed. A rooster crowed, breaking the silence. Then followed, the 'maaaing' of goats. I smiled and thought to my self that I am so thankful to be where I am today.

I learned today, in a deeper way, to be thankful in my present circumstances and not base my happiness in the future.

For if the future is our happiness, when the future does come, we will be only thankful for that and realize that we nothing to look forward to, since this what we have been looking forward all our lives and had our happiness based on that- the future, not what is happening in the present.
We should base our happiness on glorifying and enjoying God in the present for the good of our future. "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."~1 Corinthians 10:31

God will give us our future in His timing!

In the mean time, look at what you are doing now- do all you do now for God's glory, spread the Truth, and praise the Lord for all His blessings upon you!

December 17th 2012

Today I went out with my sister to buy some winter things. I got winter boots. :)
We had a good and fun time together. I always enjoy a day out with my sister...well, most of the time! ;)

 I then came home and ate supper. Then helped Daddy clean off a rifle and then 'stain' it. It looks really pretty.

Talking about pretty, I got some nice picture of the snow and clouds today and some pictures yesterday as well. All with my new camera.

This year is nearly over and I am thankful for all I have gotten done.
This year being a year of times of laughter, times of sorrow, times of being with friends and family, times of making new friends, working hard, taking it easy, and in all these things, most importantly, glorifying God and sharing His truth to those around us.
May next year be all this and more. :)

December 19th 2012- Flu

I was going to write a blog post last night, but I didn't get around to it since time did not permit me to do so.
So...here I am again, starting this one.

Today I am getting better from the flu.

Here is how it all started, if you feel so keen to know, or maybe you don't care, but in that case, I am writing this any way, so look away.

The day before yesterday I got 'hit' suddenly with the flu while I was doing math.
And later in the day I laid down and drank some tea because it got worse. (Thanks to Iain for telling me to lay down and drink some tea! You are such a kind-hearted man!)

When I did finally get to bed that night, I woke up several times having a stuffy nose and throat- It was horrible.
I got up yesterday morning and ate breakfast which for me consisted of canned peaches and tea. (Everyone else ate cold cereal.)
I got a stomachache and I felt like throwing up and since the dogs needed to be taken out, my sister told me told me it might be a good idea to go outside if I felt sick. I did then go outside... and then felt more and more sick...until I promptly  throw up my breakfast...twice. I stayed out for a little longer to make sure I wasn't going to throw up a third time. I didn't.
I felt better and went back in.
Throughout yesterday, I had aches in my muscles and joints, had a headache, and also was queasy on and off a couple of times, but I didn't throw up again, thankfully.

Even through all this, I really don't have anything to complain about. I have a warm home, loving family, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ for encouragement, and so much more. I am so thankful for each and every one of you!! (Plus, this is the first sickness all year!)

I have made up my mind to try to write on this blog everyday; telling about my day and what I am thankful for and other things if I manage to get the time.
